when life gives you lemons.........LEMONS FOR THE LEMON GOD!!
I dont know about at michaels, but i know my local Railroad hobby store carries a two part modeling putty that is Yellow and blue and costs something like $12 for a big roll of it.
There is another that I've seen called "blue stuff" that is supposed to be a more maleable form of green stuff. though I've never found it anywhere but online.

Have a look for Kneadatite on ebay, it's exactly the same as the stuff Games Workshop sell but a hell of a lot cheaper

Blood Bowl > You
When i was into military modelling, i used to buy a product called "Milliput". It came in two types, with different curing times and hardness, and was an easy to use good quality filler. Have not used it for a while, but i bet its still much cheaper than GW greenstuff. I stopped buying GW modelling supplies after they brought out that little tub of sand for £5.00 !
Jager bombs. Very efficient at wiping out friend or foe.
Billy Mays's Mighty Putty. It is very very cheap compared to Green Stuff and great when used alongside Green Stuff.
