I was looking for some suggestions as to what colour scheme i should paint the sword of my daemon prince. As he is a daemon prince of khorne, he his painted red, so i am looking for a colour scheme that would stand out against it.
Any suggestions would be really helpful.
Well it might look nice is he a blue coloured sword though I would advice of whatever colour you choose you use also ink to give it a better look.
i havent seen a chaos prince's sword but if its like any other chaos sword it probably has a load of evil engravings and things of that nature , so i think the sword should be black , and all the designs and engravings do them in something like blazing orange and bad moon highlights , ive seen it done before it looks class .

If this is a standard 40k demon prince paint it's sword tin bitz with brazen brass over it then a light wash of blue ink gives a real other-worldly effect.
Try black, and then highlight blue just on the edges and then put several watery washes of silver in the engravings.
The only difference between tattooed people and non-tattooed people is that tattooed people are awesome and can kick your ass.

almost all mini swords have embossed inscriptions, instead of engravings, So I wouldn't use silver washes.then put several watery washes of silver in the engravings.
Ave Dominus Nox!
Try not painting the sword and gently scraping it with a knife, it really does look alot better than you'd think, I did it to my grey knight Nemesis weapons, looks amazing.
You could use green, becuase it complements red, but then he might be mistaken for santa claus.
It's not Raymond Luxury Yacht, It's pronounced throat wobbler mangrove.
