I have a 3000pt space marine army ive collected, inherited and added to over the years, and have never once painted in a coherient scheme.
The painting link is here
as such, as u will see in there
i want to make 2 scratch built dreadnaughts, a simply converted chaplain, a bike libarain, an attack bike conversion, and i need to convert the oldschool 15 year old grey knights into assault terms. The last wont be converted much, but i need to make sure that i dont mess the models up cos they are precious, expensive, old, and were a handmedown from my bro.
also, at the end, want to make a converted sm captain, and random conversions always pop up ( such as the scout snipers ill be making)
any help with good tools to buy, from where (in the UK or net), gs, how to use it is really nesicary, and good things to use as a base for those scratch built dreds ( plastics, wires, guitar wires, plasticard (is that it) (and milliput? and how to use it, cos i guess it different from gs) would be so wicked.
Just need a hand, have the patients and enough minatures to paint to pass the time before i start these heavy projects of mine.
Cheers all, your input is always appreciated and happy to help you out if i can
time for one of these. and to paint. inabit, hopefully will see a reply tomorrow ?
i live in the US and went to every craft store around me looking for styrene sheet and no one knew about or had anything so i'd appreciate some links for places to buy it aswell
but if you're in the UK you can try craft stores and ask for plasticard, hopefully it's easier to find there
Cheers man, well hopefully that will help.
Might just do a bit of net searching see what i can find you no.
Most non-GW model shops (railway modellers generally) will stock plasticard. If you ask at you local GW they may even point you in the right direction. What part of the UK do you live in?
Bath, right next to bristol if u didnt no ( sure u did). But is plasticard the right stuff, cos im completely new at this heh.
I know Bath (quite well actually seeing as I live here!). If you go out of the GW, turn left, head up towards the roundabout (not to the odeon, the other way) then the road forks either side of the hobgoblin pub. Take the left fork, about 100m down next to the pasty shop on the right hand side is a model shop. They sell all kindsa stuff in there that's useful for modelling, plasticard, rods (metal and plastic), foamcore, transfers, balsa wood.
Oh, and PM me if you want a game sometime. I'd love to see your stuff in person.
Well, that is truely random. And seriously, i love it mate. Barely any people i no go to GW, so yeah, def meet up some time. Ah, wicked, ill check it out next time ive got money. Sure, well, ill try and figure out how to add u on this thing and meet up sometime when ive got a lil more painted, go for a pint and a paint lol.
Only got a wh40k army atm, and havent even seen the new rulebook so a game would be an in progress sorta thing. Brothers got IMperial guard though.
At the top of your page you should have a thing that tells you when you get a notification (bold black writing). I have added you as a friend, so if you accept that then we can chat on the chatbar at the bottom of the page which I would be more than happy to do.
I have 40k too, a guard army and a dark eldar army, but am using the guard more at the moment, they're just that muc more fun due to having a new codex that's understandable.
I would be more than happy to give you a learn the rules walkthrough game.
Done mate. Yeah, i just checked your guard army project out while trying (and failing) to add you heh.
Looks good mate, tell you what, reply to this as a message cos dont want to fill this post with friendly replies so no one posts advice about moddelling, no offence of course, just more pratical. thats why we added each other anyway, right? cheers mate
