Hey, So i'm building up my army of Catachan dude, and decided to make myself a Marbo model instead of ordering the old school guy. I did however, model him pretty much after the older guy but in the pose of the IG codex.
Hes only sticky tacted together at the moment, but i chopped a leg off of the kneeling heavy weapons squads to get him in that pose and will be green stuffing the gaps. He is not always going to be standing on that sprue though, I'm trying to think of something else to put under it. I was thinking a orc or maybe a tyranid or something showing that he slaughered it. What do you guys suggest?
His pistol is a really old Necromunda pistol but I think it fits well with the idea of it being a "ripper" pistol because it doesn't look like anything else in the IG line.
As for his Melta bomb, and Demolition charge, I'm confused on what to model onto him. I know I have acouple of the Melta Bombs from SM Assault Marines box, but it just looks way too big to put onto him. Also, I'm extremely confused on the demo charge. I have the old Vargas model, who is carrying that "geneseed" container, it kind of looks the way I way but havn't thought about chopping it off yet. Any suggestions for these items?
Heres a picture from the back
What do you guys think? Does he look Marbo'ish?

I like him, and can even answer some of your questions.
In regards to what to have him standing on, it really does depend on what you want the feel of the model to be. Is he stalking through the jungle, or fresh from the kill? If you do decide to plant his boot on a head/body, a nice touch would be having the blood rom whatever it is on his knife (black for orks, green/yellow for nids, blue for tau, and eldar bleed rainbows).
With the wargear, do you have any spare melta guns lying around? cutting the tank off one of those and attaching a handle of some kind would do the trick. As for the dome charge, a big box may look to bulky. I'm going to go a bit out there and suggest a bandolier of dynamite around his torso.
Hope that helps.
With my marbo I gave him a large backpack and just said that all the other kit not modelled was in there. Job done!
As for the base, I think he looks quite cool as he is on the sprue, you could make a good cityfight base from that.
thanks for your comments guys.
Looking at him after I was done, I almost envisioned him climbing stairs kind of. And maybe he was pointing the gun out a window, but I dunno about that. I have alot of the City of Death terrain kicking arround, I could potentially make him like that but then I thought that the building he was in would be a big distraction from the model, so I dunno.
I like the idea about the dynomite and even the melta gun thing, I'll see if I can pull that off and show you guys some pics later, cause I got 2 days off now.
Days off are sweet, because I get to work on my own stuff instead of the stores projects! So i worked again on Marbo today, and got him pretty much done but the base is alittle iffy. I'm not exatcly liking the dead marine on the ground, but he's sufficing for now. I think after I post this i'm gonna make a staircase, and see if he looks better on that but anyways, take a look and tell me guys what you think.
He demo charge is 2 terminator scrolls glued together to make a dynamite looking contraption.
Hows he looking now?
Looks really good, but why would he chop up a SM? I'd place some Chaos symbols there myself.
Necron Army Building Maxima: Beware of Phase Out
Like it, though I was going to say the same as Lemt with regards to the marine on the base. Some chaosness on there would go a long way.
I'd rather see some Eldar or Tau on his base, bit more to his fluff. Still looks impressive either way.
