May seem like alot, but I'm only a painter not a gamer so their not full armies.
My Tyranids use purple for the exoskeleton. The purpls being drybrushed on in several stages then shaded and then given a purple ink stain. Red for the joints and muscle sheath. Black with aqua-green and white highlights for the carapace. A lighter form of the effect on the carapace is used on claws, blades etc. Bright green is often used for details, stingers, toxin sacs are often green. Odd areas are done with pink and or warlock purple.
My World eaters are my other army. They get gold drybrushed on to do their trim. Then blood red is painted onto the armour. This is then painted over with red gore and very heavily shaded with black. Tubes and other details are often black as well as some armour plates. Bone is often used and grey is often used on hair. Metal areas are often given alot of brown ink to show the age and corruption of the metal and equipment Traitor Marines use.
My lord, that is a beautiful scheme on that nid... wish I could have gotten mine that way...
