Well, I originally purchased these orks to enter the last competition... A bit more daunting than I thought.. So here they are as a WIP.
The top legs are the color I am going for, with the bottom being my initial color. I have magnetized the legs to match the torsos.. Since I get more torsos than legs, and even more weapon combos. (I will purchase more torsos and heads to finish utilizing my weapons)
Here are the torsos... No Highlighting up has been done, just my dark tones.
Just to show how well the magnets work.
Here is the boss.. A bit of highlighting has been done. Three different angles. And no not done, but gives an idea of where I am going with these.
I am thinking of using a boltgun metal for the guns and armor, and then a wash of black, but am unsure.. Any ideas for these portions are most welcome.
As a side, here is an Ork Warchief that I was asked to paint for a friend... I need to get some dull coat and spray it to get rid of the shine that for some reason, my FLAT spray seems to be creating, and still need to base it.
i like'em especially the boss guy. maybe add some washes to the skin, clothes, armor, etc to add more effect. also some shading then all is goood fine sir!
Hmmm oddly enough I liked the Orks with the very light green skin, it looks kind of albino. I might do that for my Orks.
I wish I had your patience to paint than assemble. Good job.

As WIP's go they're coming along nicely. Some shading via washes will really bring out the details. The Warchief is really good in my opinion.

Question on the washes.. Are you suggesting washes for the Finished Warboss? or for the 40k Ork Boyz?
If for the boys, then yes I still have a long way to go, and have only just started with making my own washes... So a Dark Green wash?
Thank you for the compliments on the Warboss, he took a long time to do, and I have yet one more of those to finish for the brother of the one I did this one for.
