Thought I'd toss this up to see what people thought. Digital camera issues caused detail and shading to be lossed so that the images wern't blurred beyond recognition. The flash also caused the model to appear glossy when it actually has a matte finish. Anyway, comment away.
The standard (and skulls) came from a bitz box at my local store. I haven't the faintest idea where it's from. Fantasy orcs maybe? I chopped off the wooden crossbar and replaced it with parts from former Tau pulse carbines. The Space Marine head came from some metal bit that I believe belongs to orcs and usually sits atop two others.
The right arm is from a regular Kroot Mercenary, though it had to be cut at the wrist so the hand was positioned properly. The kroot rifle is just an extra from the mercenary box. The base will be added to later, as I don't have the materials for it at the moment.
I like it. The standard fits the kroot very well (half-tau, half-barbarianish).
His skin looks a bit odd, but I'll blame that on the camera flash.
very nice , the browns look a little funky but its probably the flash , is the standard hand painted , the tau symbol ?

The standard's green is painted, the colour used because it matches the colour of my Tau's armour. The Tau symbol is a transfer. And yes, the brown skin is made to look a bit funky by the flash. Wish I could do something about it, but it's either funky brown or dark, blurred mess. Thanks for the comments
THe banner is from the beastmen Gor set. THe conversion is very nice though.
Nice, the funky look of the skin is caused by the gloss varnish maybe? Reflected light and all that science lark.......
Nice model though.
Barneys Japanese Girlfriend: "I would like a single plum, floating in perfume, served in a mans hat"
nice job good detail on the head feather things along with the idea of sticking the 2 pulse carbines to the top of the banner looks ver much sophisticated tau but fits in just enough for the kroot.
Thanks for all the comments, folks. Sorry that the flash makes the figure look so glossy. I'll try to do something about that for the next time I put up some photos.
That is awsome, it's the coolest thing ive seen in a long time.
