Ok, i have a vindicator, and I need some help with color selection. I'm going to paint it purple, and use a technique similar to 'Eavy Metal's Rhino technique, but I'll lighten it with progressively lighter shades of metallic purple drybrushed on. My question is: Can I lighten purple with silver, or do I need to mix in another color?
Well, it's not mithril silver, it's just generic silver, but it looks just the same. The metal flakes are just a little bit bigger.
You can lighting the purple with the silver paint but its going to have a bit of a metallic appearance. If that's something you like then go right ahead and test it out, another method to lighten the color is to use bleached bone, or white depending on the color your after. Its best to test it out on a scrap piece and experiment with the colors to find the right shade you are after.
