It's been a while since I've been around here. I've finally settled in and moved away from home for my new job. Now it's time to set up shop and paint some minis. I've recently gotten hooked on playing Flames of War. Not only do I like the gameplay much better than WH, but I love the idea of playing during the WWII theater. Don't get me wrong, I have a special place for WH but local players have really ticked me off lately with immaturity so I have since moved onto a different game.
Would it be in poor taste to post those kinds of minis on here? They're much different to paint since I'm now going from 28mm figures to 15mm. Also, anyone else paint them?
As for posting pics then I'd say go for it (note: There's nothing about me to suggest this is an official call). We're all interested in painting/modelling, whatever the models are for.
No more NG spearmen, thanks! Now I need some pump-wagons!
it's not like LO is strictly warhammer
i'd like to see them!
On a personal note, as much as I love 40k, I welcome seeing anything new and different. PLEASE post pics! I haven't seen much FoW stuff period, so I'd be most curious.
Go for it! I would love to see some Flames of war models.

Well I have two machine gun teams completely done. These guys will act as support units for 1st and 2nd platoon.
To give a little background, the unit I've chosen to go with in Flames of War is the 101st Airborne Division, and more specifically the 506 PIR, Easy Company. Think of the gameplay as using drop pods to deply but there's a bit of chance involved. I can either deploy them from the air, as a true air assault or I could have them field and march upon objectives. Overall, it's a ton of fun. But to cut to the chase here they are:
Ti give you an idea of how small these guys are, each one is smaller than the size of my thumbnail. I've gotten pretty good at painting 28mm minis, but these little guys are 15mm and under, so it presents a bit more of a challenge for me which I do enjoy. Now to just get the camera shooting right. They look too shiny in the picture, but they're not really in real life; I actually plan to put another coat of Dull Cote on them.
The size of the models makes pretty much any paint job impressive. I've seen a few FoW models in person and I can't imagine how some people actually paint the EYEBALLS on those guys! Sheesh!
I like your grass effects. Very realistic. 101st, eh? Been reading/watching Band of Brothers? I expect to see a red-headed Capt. Dick Winters in there somewhere My gf LOVES Damien Lewis *eyeroll*.
Haha thanks. I love the series, but I chose it for a different reason. In paintball we have this major event every year called "Oklahoma DDAY" where we have a reinactment of the Normandy invasion and the parachute deployment. I'm in the 506 PIR for that so I thought, what the hell why not and made my own unit, haha.
I should have more done tonight. They actually take longer than you'd think.
haha, oh man the grass looks like giant grass.
might want to find some static grass with shorter strands.
otherwise it's great. put something for size reference in the next picture(like a space marine or something)
Haha, yes giant grass! I actually chose this length because I'm trying to replicate them being in a field and such. The shorter stuff didn't look "wild" enough.
