Im begin to dislike these GW paints for some reasons. I dont feel like listing these reasons but hey, I want your help. Im looking for another brand of paints to use, ive heared people like Reaper Paints P3 paints yada yada. Which paint should I get for painting my empire guys? Im going for a blue and white scheme on them if that helps.
I've heard really good things about Vallejo paints. They're pretty cheap online, working out to more paint than GW I'm fairly sure. A few guys at my shop use it, it goes on very clean and the tubes it comes in are easier to use than pots.
Check my Blog for Battle Reports, useless ranting and more! Comments appreciated.

I'd recommend Vallejo or P3 as alternatives to Citadel paints. Both are either the same or higher in quality and cost a little less if i'm not mistaken. I'd recommend the P3 white expecially. It's got really good coverage which will help immensely with your painting.

I like Reaper Master Series for most colors. The triads can be real time savers, especially for flesh.
It would be helpful though if you did tell us *why* you don't like GW paints. GW paints are usually just fine, and (other than the packaging) quite comparable to most of the competition. They will have many properties that are very similar to all the alternatives listed. If your frustrations are something that can be addressed through technique, we wouldn't want you to go spend more $$$ on a different brand only to find it doesn't change the things you didn't like.
i dont like GW paints beause of the inconsisteny between pots. some are so thick you couldnt push your finger to the bottom(exaggerating)
and some are so thin you need to add cornstarch to them (again exaggerating)
they also dry out in my brush really quickly when i'm trying to highlight (i thin with water)
im thinking about picking up some reaper black and pure white because i'm working on black templar and i think rather than buying a bunch of greys, two dropper bottles will help me mix the same greys consistently. also some reaper drying retarder for when im using my GW paints. is the drying retarder any good?
One thing I hate about the foundation paints is how fast they dry out! I know how unavoidable this is though!
ya i reccommand reaper paint to anyone over GW ones. they require alot more layers but in the end they make a better finish. Ill post pics of my orks with GW paints and orks with mostly reaper paints there big dif.
