after a slight absence from Warhammer, I've returned to happytimes with the hobby. After my creation of Bastonne (minus his head, still have to work on that), I have gone on to other projects.
First off is my Frateris Militia. For further info, look on this site:
Frateris Militia - Lexicanum
Now the question is: What can I use to create these folks? It seems that the most obvious way would be to cut off the shoulderpads of standard lasguns and attach those to militia from the WHFB Empire range or are there other suggestions? The latter seems unlikely, and expensive if there are other models. The former seems too archaic, however. I'm open for suggestions.
My second question is a bit easier:
How do I assemble the Dark Elf Dreadlord on Cold One? It doesn't seem entirely obvious to me, despite the fact that there's relatively few parts. Is there perhaps a guide? Thanks for all who might be able to help.
Okay, so now I have no signature. Great.
This is probably not what you want to hear, but using Empire Militiamen and Flagellants is perfect. Back when I played SoB I used those models as Zealots and it worked beautifully - just have to do some minor conversions.

Like what Matus said, GW used to make Frateris Militia but that must have been over 10 years ago now and unlike the Ork tracks and trucks these guys havnt hung around. Besides they were all metal and you only got like 4 in a blister pack. To make any decint sized squad would have been expensive.
And yeah, Adhesivespatula is right, cheapest (overall) and best way is militiamen and flagellants. I used grail pilgrims when I was doing SoB and they work really well too (if you like the fat, dirty frenchman look) but again, all metal so expensive.
EDIT: Woot! 300th post... sorry, I'm happy
300 monkey, you could almost make a film out of it
I'd deffinatly go with the Empire flagellants. They're pretty cheap modelwise and lovely models to paint. Plus with lots of fire they fit the fluff too. I'd look up the old Necromunda redemptionists though as they're amazing models. Expensive but you only need a few of them.
Redemptionist Leaders would make great confessors and priests.
