Welcome to Librarium Online!
I use a nice sturdy desk from Ikia (sp?) and ive got the top surface covered in paper so i dont mark the desk. While it looks messy, for me i know where everything is
Well i went to my local homedepot and bought 20$ worth of food and made my self a table which sits in my basement.. It handy as i can paint on it clue and dont really have to care if i screw it up.
I paint and model at this.
Its actualy an old TV stand on casters so its easy to roll round the lounge. I just use any arm chair and we have lots of halogen bulbs in the rooms I paint in so lights not an issue.
There are WIP pictures of the build here at tabletop-terrain.
I built it on my 30th birthday as a present to myself with the help from my Son. I still havent finished the breadbox lid and as my Daughter gets older shes getting less mischeif with my modeling supplies.
I also have desks and tables in my garage for bigger projects such as organising models and building paint stations.
I paint at my kitched table but i keep everything inside of a fishing takle box. Tool boxes also work well for storage.
a table out of food....
I have a Painters table. (also known as an 'Artists Table')... it 's top is about 3x3 (feet) and tilts to about 30 degrees if you wanted.
It's a matte white finish, so I mounted a halogen bulb/magnifying glass scissor arm lamp on it... the light combined with the white surface makes painting that much easier.
However... this ran me about $80. Wellllll worth it. I'm on that thing almost daily.
