Dear all LO's,I've just been asking on the Skaven part of the forum, if using human's as slaves (or warriors in the new codex) here's the link it will explain more http://www.librarium-online.com/foru...an-slaves.html (Human Slaves!). So what do you think are the best model's for this or as the thread asks how do you do really make effective kilts out of green stuff or any thing else you might suggest. Thanks in adavance
1st Combined Regiment. Contains Tallarn,Cadians, Catachans,Valhallan,Attilan,Armageddon Steel Legion and Vostroyan. Most Kills in one turn: 98 space marines and 6 rhinos with only the stompa's Gatla Gun (only that)
This is how I do kilts!
OK now to your question. I would use GS. Make some and as it starts to dry and harden roll it out like real fabric. wrap it around the waste of the model, make sure the crease is in the front and take another small bit of GS and make a front flap to cover it.
If I am not being clear enough then you can ignore me or if you ask I might try it my self and take lots of pics, but I might try it any way.
If you do things right people wont be sure if you have done anything at all.
Dress kilt would be the easiest way to go, which is more or less what is shown in the above photo.
A traditional great kilt is 9 yards of woolen cloth, pleated and wrapped about the body and secured with a belt. Excess cloth is pinned over one shoulder with a brooch or wrapped about the waist. Then a sporran ( fur and/or leather bag) is hung on the front to carry personal belongings.
It'll take some sculpting for a great kilt. Wrap some green stuff about the body and carving in some pleats would probably the easiest way to go for realism. Add a belt and then cloth above it either wrapping about the waist or going over the shoulder.
Painting the plaids realistically will take a quite a bit of work.
