Is there a good place to buy that pink foam? Just like any hobby store or something?
Home depot is the best place to get it.
Home Depot, Loes, any home improvement or hardware stoore. You'd be suprised what you can find there. Try going there and just walk around, its easy it find inspiration from the most common item in a hardware store.
How much does it usually go for?
I think I paid $12.00 for a sheet 8' x 4'- 2" thick.
I don't know about the rest of the country, but this is what I found in Virginia Beach, VA.
Lowes - no
ACE - no
Hobbytown USA - no
Hungates - no
Home Depot - YES!!! $10.99 a sheet
I would check HD before anywhere else
O.K. i don't want to start a new thing for this question, 'cause it'll get closed, so i'll ask here, is there anywhere in ENGLAND where i can get that stuff, like currys, comet b and Q or somewhere, cause i don't want to go thirty miles to find they don't sell it!!!
if you are reading this signature, then you are wasting you're time, and i am wasting my time by writing it, so run along now, jimmy, run along.
I say Home depot because they have the best selection. I think it depends heavily on your area though. I can get 8x2x3/4-2" from $5-10. Plus they have the super sturdy, black on one side/silver on the other, good stuff...
No more wood frame for your gaming table...
Thanks guys. Ill definitely have to check it out.
Try calling first. It may be called something else in England. The industry term is extruded polystyrene sheet. (expanded poly is the white crumbly styrofoam, no good) Ask about sheet polystrene house insulation or exterior sheet insulation. Stores that sell to builders or DIY places should carry it if it's available.Originally posted by Frankendoodle65@Aug 26 2004, 10:48

You may also check with packing manufacturers, they use small pieces which could be better than a two meter sheet of the stuff. Maybe: Celltex Fabrications Ltd, Tipton, W. Midlands; Alcan Thermoplastics, Chelmsford; Custompac Ltd, Castleford, W. Yorkshire, W T B Group, Bristol, United Kingdom Civil engineering & building materials. Sort of a shotgun blast since I don't know where you live.
