Ok, heres the question, im looking for a way to paint ghostly sceme on my space marines to use them as Legion of the Damned, as my chapter's fluff they are a cursed founding, but thats for someplace else. Anyways the models im using are the dark angel veterans, I want to go with the colors used in the Lord of the Rings game, the ghost models, im sure some of you know what im talking about, the green phantom look. So if anyone can point me in the right direction, I would thank you =]
"Brothers! You carry his word as the burning torch in your hearts! With that flame you shall walk into the darkness and we will destroy it!" Marshal Gorgon at the battle of Hive Kalwan
Though no expert on ghostly schemes (Or legion of the damned specific schemes), I guess a fairly simple way to do it would be...
1) Prime white
2) Apply several washes of whatever colour green you want
3) Sit back, put your feet up and enjoy a job well done!
Someone else may know of a way to get a better result, but I suspect this could work fairly well.
When I did my black knights (converted from empire) I did the horses with a few shades of gray leading up to white, then wash with green/blue and your done.
Tyranids W/L/D - 13/4/3
Vampire Counts - 1/2/0
Space Marines - 2/0/1
My friend painted his spirit hosts with light green and layered on some grey leading up to 1:1 Fortress Grey and Skull White, then he just washed the model with green, looking good.
this thread would be great with some pictures
