A few years back i started doing orks and they looked like everything else, green. Now i am re visiting the green menace but this time they are kinda different to what you would normally expected.
I wanted a unique colour scheme that stands out from the crowd and is quick to paint. so here is teh warboss!
How i did it.
Cloth: Astrenomicon grey, devlan mud
Armour: Mithril silver, devlan mud
Paint on armour: eyslanden darksun, sunburst yellow
Hair and loincloth: Eyslanden darksun, devlan mud
Bone/teeth: calthan brown, dneb stone, devlan mud
Jewlry/naked wires: shining gold, burnished gold, devlan mud
wires/cloth: mechrite red: devlan mud
Skin: Homagaunt purple, devlan mud, highlight of homagaunt purple.
Face: Adeptus battlegrey, Astranomicon grey, skull white
Cybork eye(s): mechrite red, blood red, ogryn flesh
Leather: calthan brown, devlan mud
Let me know what you think!

Sometimes the best defense is a good offense... Wait, what?
purple orks was one of my first ideas when i started 40k but i didn't want to get mocked because orks were suppose to be green
i really like your muted dark purple, too many purple orks ive seen are an outlandishly briliant purple that pain the eyes.
you stack another vote to the "its ok to not be green" poll for me, really awesome work i dig the metal and the white face paint!
i love the way it looks like the paint has almost entirely chipped off
i like your purple orc, but i would not use a second "unexspected" colour ( in his face ) it confuses too much ...
make his face purple and it will look much better i think

I like it. The purple isn't overwhelming and the white war paint is a nice touch. The yellow is definitely complementary to the overall theme.

I'm liking it

I'm with tarutz here, the white faces are a little jarring, especially as the white is quite harsh...
A thin purple glaze over them to bring the shading into the white a little more would go a long way to helping, if you want to stick with the white face paint.
I also think the plain metals are a little flat, if you spent a little time adding chipping with some Mithril Silver, you could really improve their appearance with very little effort.
Overall, really nice work, though.

I really like the scheme overall, I do agree about the warpaint, maybe you could trim it back to being streaks and triangles (like the blue braveheart style warpaint).
You don't need to change it though because they are Orcs, and if they were to paint their faces I don't think that they would care too much if it clashed, in fact I would half expect them to get sick of sitting still and bash the face painter.
Was really impressed with that first warboss, the yellow looks fantastic.
