I love him. I tthink the fluff behind his is amazing, next to nothing can top it. Every story that i find him in i find hard to put down or be sucked into. Such a dynamic amazing character. I love all the art work on him, always moving, never stoping. There in lies the problem with the model. I know its old but it realy is so static and rigid.
I was wondering if anyone has attempted to re-model or built a kharn from scratch.
If so does anyone have any good tips?
I agree with you, the Kharn model, while really nice still, is really static. When I was doing my World Eaters force I was tempted to do a scratch build of him for the army but I couln't get away from the base model, I like it too much. Here's what I came up with in the end:
Ended up using the head from the FW berzerker upgrade kits, the axe from Terminator Lord Zhufor (again from FW) and a Catachan arm with chaos plasma pistol. Overall it still keeps the basic look of the model but updates him a bit more and makes it a bit viscious.
In the future I hope to make one from scratch and have a much more dinamic pose for him.
The catachan arm that I would use is the stretched one. I would position it to the side while the body and the helmet would face front. With this the model will suggest that Kharn shoot to an enemy on his side while running forward to slice`n`dice an other one.
For really cheap You can have fake silver jewelry chain, I find it stunning to glued across the chest as it is too thick for the models, therefore very impressive (IMO).
I`ll take a look on my bitzbox hopefully I can assemble an example model for You tomorrow.
Oh, yeah, double post!
