...because i have some bad comments on my last.this time. I'm thinking of getting GW and just building the actual board and stick the stuff on top
So what scenery should i get, i have about £100 budget (birthday from quite a few peeps).
thinking of doing a imperial city so ruined buildings, bastions, defense lines etc.
Check what's on ebay, if nothing turns up then i'd wait a bit and keep checking. Look specifically for CoD stuff as terrain is often the first thing people sell when the rent needs payed. Besides CoD terrain is as expensive as hell new.

Don't stop believin'!
You can get there with your own terrain you just have to take a bit more effort and think it through right dude... The more effort put in the more you'll get out.
I wish you were right. I wish i had your skills ( i saw your awesome ork table) but i woudn't know where to start.
Just start with the core basics and then take it one step at a time, making a good citytable takes time, skill and dedication, even for those of us that know how to make it work it took trial and error at first.
Eventually you will learn in time and by making mistakes you are getting further up the ladder.
Don't be discouraged when starting by people telling you it sucks or it could have been so much better, use constructieve critism to get a better understanding on were the flaw is and then work on how to remedie it.
Don't be afraid to ask for help or tips when your stuck, make as much use of the experience of others if you have the chance.
And the most important do it because you want to, don't make scenery when your not in the mood.
Thanks, you've really given me inspiration: what materials do you think i should get? and whwere?
look at the ork city thread for ideas.
Any ideas which shops stores it? (see what i did there?).
Im in the US so I don't know about european stores but pretty much any hardware store sells the pink insulation boards. Buy one of them (they are like 8ft long) and use it to make a board or maybe some ruined buildings. Don't be upset if they dont turn out well, my first buildings turned out horribly. Also I remember the ones you got negative feedback on, you didn't paint. If you paint them they will look ten times better. Also if you can't find CoD buildings don't buy them through GW they are horribly expensive...
I'd go with foam core boards before I go buying expensive GW products. In australia I found a3 sheets for a few bucks which could make a decent sized ruin building in about 5 minutes...
I never know how to start either but the best thing is to look at some great inspirations first and take bits and pieces.
