I've recently started some reinforcements for my Kroot Mercenaries army, and I thought I'd get a few optnions on it here. First up is my new Master Shaman, a model which had been sitting around waiting to be a standard bearer, at least until I found an Ork skull.
Next is the fleshing out of my Centikroot in to two minimum size squads. The three pictured here are the first squad, and by far the most interesting in terms of equipment - the other squad is armed with standard Kroot rifles.
...and the Centikroot Shaper's scratchbuilt Eviscerator:
Next step will be GSing the harnesses on the Centikroot, and the mask on the Shaman, but what do you think so far?
Very good Maligoare! The shamn looks great, and I really like the ork skull! You've fitted it to his face brilliantly. I'm not sure about the Imperial Guard helmet on his shoulder though, as it makes it look a bit unbalanced. I notice he hasn't got his right arm yet; what are you going to equip him with?
Those Centikroot are very interesting! My favourite is the middle one, with the shotgun with added scope! Nice work on the eviscerator, its plasticard right?
These look very good for an early stages project. I'm eager to see the GS work but the infantry models already look pretty good.

ChadMS - The Shaman is likely to get some kind of pistol, probably from the SM scouts box - not really that interesting, I'm afraid. The eviscerator is indeed plasticard, and I'm glad you like the shotgun Kroot. I think he's my favourite at the moment too.
Prince of Excess - No updates for the GS yet, I'm afraid, but there has been some progress...
I had a go at making the circular saw style eviscerator for the second centikroot shaper. It's certainly big!
For the power source, I have either an IG flamer backpack, or a heavy weapons team power-pack of some kind, which will either be back or pannier-style mounted. I'm kind of leaning towards the flamer tanks at the moments, with the image of huge whirling blades and a great, smoke coughing petrol engine.
There are a couple of options I can see for mounting the thing. First is to have the blade vertical, with one handle coming from the plane of the blade, and the second perpendicular to it. This is equivalent to the normal way of wielding an eviscerator. Second option would be to have the blade horizontal, with two identical handles coming out of the top, perpendicular to the blade. This would result in it being more like a giant hedge-trimmer in movement, moving it side to side and hoping to lop a head or two off. This might be better given that he's cavalry, allowing him to make swiping attacks to the side. Either way, I think he's going to need some sort of harness and/or servo arm, a bit like the smartguns in Aliens.
Just in case the giant circular saw doesn't work, I do have a backup. If it doesn't get used on this project, it'll be replacing one of the early, really rubbish eviscerators I have from when I was just starting Kroot Mercs.
What say you?

Yay, I've managed to get it to fit!
I ended up going with a 'hedge trimmer' orientation, mainly because it looked really silly otherwise. The servo arm is just a skeleton at the moment, but the main arm is a single piece of wire-core plasticard tube, which helps to give the whole thing some strength. The fuel tanks are sticky-tacked on for now, but eventually will link up with the saw's engine.
So, what do you think?
Great idea to use the Ork skull for the Shaman's mask! The only thing is that his gun/standard looks a little weird, and he's missing an arm. I assume you have plans for that?
The Emperor set a fire in their hearts that they might burn the iniquitous and the impure from his sight. And the light of that flame shall be as a beacon to the faithful, a light that shines in the darkest places.
Ick at the centikroot's pistol in the first batch of pictures. They look pretty good when you just attach the muzzle to the handle and cut out the stock and barrel and the blades. As of now the handle is tiny, and it has crazy bad iron sights.
Awesome plasticard evis in the first batch of photos though. Thought of adding feathers from FB Empire archers to your shaper. They look much better than purity seals.
I know I've added much more criticism than I did compliments, but as a kroot enthusiast I have to congratulate you on working on the birdy boys. It's always a blast seeing someone else who enjoys them.

That buzzsaw is massive! I reckon you had a gleeful pleasure in making that!
