A bizarre idea, I know. But the thought and idea has not only made US (yes you will to) all laugh but its got me thinking next army to rake on the GT circuit just for well...theme... and more laughs!
The general concept that I've worked out so far is likely the Black templars chapter(they're black and white scheme fits perfectly)...
Rabbis as sgt.s (flesh space wolf heads, they have he beards sorry, with a shawl over their shoulders with a bolt pistol and all that jazz)
venerable dreadnaught with scrolls on his hull (tora)
a unit of crouching tactical marines with their arms out and on each others shoulers (not attached of couurse, but ya know like a barmitzvah)
a Land raider with a blessed hull (its gotta be blessed in a religious army!)
High marshal in a chair being carried by Neophytes (the scout marines) (Probably with a thunder hammer, hebrew hammer, eh?)
chaplain with a podium and scrolls (thinking "grimaldus" as his servitors can eaither carry a monora or the ark of the covenant or something like that)
Unless you think a different SM chapter might work better. Figuring out certain aspects has been tough but I should be able to figure it out in time (like the hats and curls on the rabbis (sorry don't know the proper name))
The idea that really made us laugh was when a space marine from another chapter comes in and says, "so wait you guys don't believe in the Emperor?" the respose being , "we believe he exists and that he was a great man but he's not our messiah."
Thoughts, comments, suggestions?
Note: had no intention of offending people of the Judaic faith.
Well some would find this idea highly offensive.
No more NG spearmen, thanks! Now I need some pump-wagons!
As has been stated before, this is typically pretty dangerous ground for an army theme. It may be worth having a read of Rule 5. As it states, people of all religions frequent these forums, so something that seems to parody the Judaic faith isn't the kind of material that keeps a community friendly and inviting.
I also would put my foot out and suggest that this is similar to the Nazi-themed Imperial Guard armies. While the intent is to create an interesting theme for your army, it does run a very real risk of people being offended by it.
So with that, I had best close this thread. Thankyou for your co-operation.
