I hate painting white, and I hate painting horses.
So clever me thinks it would be a really good idea to give all my Slaanesh Knights pure white horses (gifts from Slaanesh)
I am a competent painter but not a great one, so any tips for a 3-5 step approach would be greatly appreciated.
Current painting project: 2300 pts of Dwarfs in 5 weeks.
matte white spraycan, wash with black ink and you're done.
What is would do and have done is start with a white or black under coat its not going to matter.
Start with a Fortress Grey as the base coat the go over it with a 50/50 mix of Fortress Grey/Skull White and then again 25/75 mix of Fortress Grey/Skull White as a high light on the high parts of the hours and finally give it a Skull White high light.
Hope this helps
I would start with a grey spray or white spray and then a base coat of spacewolf grey, with highlights in pure white.
The other way I paint bright whites is a wash of 50/50 ice blue/white over a white basecoat then multiple layers of thinned white to bring the colours back up to white
