    Lascannon sizes

    Hi
I want to convert my newly acquired Valkyrie to Vendetta.
I want to know if I get a Terminus Ultra sprue to get 4 lascannons, will they be similar enough in size to the lascannons you get in the IG Heavy Weapon Sprue?

Or would I be better off buying the lascannon bits elsewhere? I need somewhere that delivers to Ireland and is not too expensive, son't want to spend much more than 20 euro.

    Thanks a lot

Do forgeworld not do a conversion kit for the Vendetta?

They do, but I have not worked with resin before and have heard it can be quite dangerous to inhale while cutting it and is quite brittle.

I do most modelling in the sitting room, and have a 2 year old so I do not want dangerous materials lying around.

If I wash resin and then clean it up with a stanley blade, will that be safe enough?
Do I need to wear mask or anything like that?

Hence a few plastic lascannons seems like the simpler option!

Resin is not dangerous in, as far as i know, unless you start beltsanding it like mad. I'm sure if you just step outside, clean up the bits with a hobbyknife and go back inside, it's not harmful.

I haven't found it to be brittle, quite the opposite: i've found it to be real good stuff, it just tends to snap differently from normal plastic. Scoring a line and expecting it to break off like normal plastic won't work.

Still, full marks on thinking ahead with a little chap running round.

Ok, might just have to order the Forgeworld kit so, I really hope this is not opening a door I cannot close! I've always wanted a Hydra!

My son is very good, he never tries to reach my glues, paints or knives which are kept just out of reach.
He plays with whatever marines are left in arms reach though, and demands he comes along whenever I spray undercoat on my models!
I don't know if I can afford 2 people hooked on GW in my house.. but a gaming buddy who lives under the same roof is appealing too.

That's very handy, i'd hate to think what he would do with super glue to himself or any passing pet!

As to the resin once more, i would just handle it like you do undercoating a model with a spraycan: doing it outside in a well ventilated area and there should be no problemo.

I fear it's not so much affording as getting it past your gf/wife/mother of your son

Thanks again for all the advice!

Luckily my wife is happy for me to play with my 'dolls'.
I only get stuff for xmas and birthdays, usually, so she does not mind really.
