The new legion of the damned mini's are awesome. I am trying to make a unique army, and I was wondering if they could be put to use as word bearer chosen. I would put horns on helmets, make icon chaosy, and the purity seals are fine because Im putting a bunch of them on my regular soldiers, sort of like impurity seals, pardon the pun. My word bearers are very fond of flame because they like to purge the unworthy and such, so I think it would tie in nicely. Are the models convertable in your opinion? Do you think it would look o.k.?
Outstanding idea. Minimal conversion work would result in very fluffy models that stand out from plain CSM. Brilliant!
Good thinking! Just add a couple of horns/spines...maybe a couple of headswaps and praise Lordgar!
I'll let you know that I am planning to build a Red Corsairs army...but using the SM rules, due to the fact that I think the CSM Codex is suitable only for the Traitor Legions (regardless of the fact that it has Huron Blackheart), hence only use it for my Word Bearers.
However, when using the SM rules for my RC, the Legion of the Damned rules can also be implemented.... say that an elite Word Bearers squad has allied itself to the Red Corsairs (due to some kind of pact like what Huron did with the Night Lords during the Fall of Vilamus). I can also use the rules for Vulkan He'stan to count as Huron Blackheart since he is very close rules-wise to Huron in the CSM codex!
Just sharing with you an idea...what do you think?
