For a Tervigon i was thinking of perhaps mixing the Carnifex sprue with the Trygon sprue. If the torso of the Trygon is bigger than Carnifex then it would suit the profile of the Tervigon i.e spawning Termagaunts. Then use both large sets of scything talons and have them looking like they are holding up the Tervigon. Then if it's possible use a part of the Trygon tail and perhaps head, or just use the Carnifex head.
Anyone else have any ideas how to make this HQ choice?
how about asking GWS? joking. that option seems expensive, but it really is the only way, because a tyrant body doesn't work at all. you may need a forgeworld fex or two boxes of fexes, because the thing is so damn big.
Ive been told that you're meant to mix and match parts from all available tyranid sprues to create the ones that arent currently available, which is why i was asking for suggesitons etc.
I did a dry test fit of the Carnifex and Trygon upper and lower bodies while making my Mawloc. I found the Carnifex body on the trygon tail looks decent. It seems to be supported up there fairly well. The Trygon body on the Carnifex legs looks very big, that may work because it will look bigger bu comparison to the lower body and may give the idea that it is full of larvae. Adding some egg-sacs will help too. Try the Carnifex head with some Tyrgon parts on it. The egg-sacs will help to show it isn't just a converted Carnifex which has scything talons. You could use the Carnifex upper body and the lower body of the Tyrgon as a basis to build a Tyrannofex if you want one.
Cheers, Leech! That is exactly what I needed to know before embarking on my own Tervigon conversion.
Shadow, despite the picture in the codex, I'd say use some of the mawloc's talons on the Tervigon to show that the beast really is more of a breeder creature, not a close combat monster.
Where you get egg sacks from?
The GW site daily update has a version of the Tervigon, though i prefer my idea, lol.
Don't know if that's any help but for additional inspiration, check out this model from Forgeworld, I could imagine this monster spawning:
my edit agrees with your other comment.. i don't like their version of it neither..

Says He used Stegadon and Carnifex kits to make it. It looks great also here is one from BoLS:
