That looks a beast! No wonder the marines have souped-up muscles to lift and fire those things.

Nice work, but you're dead right on the magazine - that's a totally ridiculous shape for a functional mag, you can't possibly store shells in that pointy bit!
Bullets are basically straight cylinders that must be fed into the weapon in line with the barrel and firing chamber. An angle like that throws it all out of whack.
I'd say there's three options:
- Simply flatten it out. a blunt, square magazine is a bit plain, but it also works.
- Try adapting a curved sickle style magazine idea, like the AK-47. Also functional, but more interesting. I'm not really sure how well it'd work with this design, though.
- Or maybe just model a belt of shells hanging from the slot, like you see with Chaos Marines.
Ha, I wondered where this had gone!
It's looking very good, but as you have pointed out the magazine does look odd. If you don't want to go to the trouble of making another one you could potentially get away with just flipping it around so the slope on the base tilts in the other direction.
A sickle mag could be interesting, though, but with your design I think a straight one would work best.
This is so cool! I've always wanted to make some of this stuff. Particularly a power fist for pure brutality.
the magazine is a little off putting and surely wont feed well as someone above suggested. I think a flat one or a small banana clip would be fine as long as you fully detail the flat of it.
Looking good! I have to agree with everyone that the clip looks off, real worls guns with pointed clips look more like this:
FN SCAR H
The slope is a lot less extreme, and opposite of the way you have yours. Traditional SM bolt pistols tend to have sickle clips much like the AK, but in canon fluff they can have box magazines, or even drum magazines as well.
Good luck with this!
Eh, I'd just keep the clip as it's supposed to be, fluffwise. After all, we are talking about a gun designed a few millenia from now, you can't possibly apply primitive gun technology to it. Since if you did, you'd also need to push the magazine a bit further back, since a barrel that short wouldn't really do much, if anything, and the sights are probably ridiculous, and, well...
Just like fantasy swords can only really work in fantasy, so too 40k guns can only work in 40k. For all we know there might've been a glitch in the STC, and no one is brave enough to alter it.
