Well after recently finding my old army, i decided to finish off remaining paint jobs needed, and to start back up, quite a few of my already painted models need touching up, and some compltley revamping.
I was wondering how much its going to set me back to buy a decent set of paints from games workshop?
I run a fantasy Orc and Goblin army, so i dont need a huge range of colours, just a few shades of green/brown, and then a few suitable colours for weapons, clothes, etc.
Would it be cheaper to buy some sort of box set? or just pick up the colours i need seperatly?
I would recommend the GW Foundations set and the GW Wash set to start with. Privateer Press' P3 paints has 10 different Faction color sets (with 6 colors per set). The Iron Kingdoms and Mercenary set have a good color range. Also, Reaper makes some learn2paint sets that are around $20-25.
I recommend Reaper Paints.. More paint, less cost, same to better quality.. And they have eyedropper bottles for easy dispensing of paint.. (Saves the paint from drying up with the pot open.
Vallejo paints are excellent quality and cheaper than GW as well. Both the model colour and game colour ranges are excellent. The Citadel foundation paints are very good, as are the washes although for what your after I'd recommend just getting the individual colours you want (for example the Devlan Mud wash- you probably wont need the purple or flesh colour washes!)
As to your original question its more cost effective to buy box sets, but only if all the paints in the box are useful to you otherwise work out what colours you need and just get them.

so these reaper and vallejo paints are available on the internet? =]
