I swear, Alister Caine is the warcaster that I've painted the most. The most recent version of him that I've done was a Classic Caine with a starscape freehanded on his coat. It works very well with the force that he's in, where all of the gun mages have some freehand on their greatcoats (the Black 13 have starscapes like this one).
I really like the white/cream on the greatcoat, that's really well done!
I'm wondering if a very dark blue might have been better as the outer colour for the coat, though, especially with the starscape on it, just for the slightly more realistic night sky look.
But he does look to be wonderfully painted, regardless!
EDIT: Oh, and happy birthday, Odinsgrandson! Hope you have/had a great day!
I don't know how much it is turning out in these photos, but the coat is a very dark blue with some hints of purple in it. I guess from these pictures it must look black? Must be a shadow or something.
The shadows over his chest mess with the photos too. His breastplate is painted in the same metals as his greaves, but in the photo, it just looks really dark.
Well, now that I look at it again I can see what you mean - I don't think I had much light on my screen when I was last looking at the pictures, and I can see hints of purple and blue in there. So possibly just me not looking closely enough!
I think the wouldwarden's the pick of that lot - a little more blue around the stars, which might have been what was bothering me on Caine's cloak. The cloak on that other model is fantastic, though!
