Here's a Wizards of the Coast Raistlin that I recently re-painted. Commentary is always welcome. There are more angles of Raistlin here.
More starscapes! Very nice!
The glow from the staff is very well done - quite subtle, but still effective.
The base seem to let it down a little, though, just featureless slabs of grey. I'm not really sure what else could have been done with it, though, although I think it may be the photo throwing me off again!
Nice stuff dude. I like the starscape on the cloak, its really well done and adds and 'mystical' look to the mini. I like your colour choices, but I find the main cloth, over his legs, to be too dirty looking. I'm not sure if its the colours used, but it looks quite dirty and not as good as I've seen from you. The shaping might be too extreme for my tastes, perhaps. However, it is well painted.
I have a little bit of a confession to make- I'm one of those people who doesn't really know who Raistlin is. I mean, I know him as an icon, but I haven't read any of the Dragonlance novels (the only Tracy Hickman I have read at all is XDM).
Now, I did this mini for a client who asked for this effect- so I'm thinking that he knows who Raistlin is and knows how interesting this effect is on him.
On the other hand, I also know that he's playing this as his D&D character (not Raistlin himself) so... I guess we have evidence both ways.
