Hello there! I recently joined your forums and thought I would share my marine chapter with you so far.
They are the Sons of Alba (Alba being the gaelic word for Scotland). Yes, Jessica Alba is their mum.
The symbol is a pitchfork and is my clan's symbol, as is the motto "over fork over" which pertains to a member of our clan saving the king of scotland by hiding him under some hay with using his pitchfork. Anyway, I have yet to write all the fluff and background for the chapter, but as you can guess the chapter will more than likely be recruiting from Kaledon (or Kaledonia can't remember how it was spelt in the book).
So without further ado, first up is my chaplain in terminator armour:
Next up is my Dreadnought from the Assault on Black Reach boxed set:
More to come once the light is good enough for me to take more photos of my units
Very cool stuff. I like the strong colors and the big contrast on the models. Very clean models aswell. Can't say more than you are skilled with the brush and I look forward of seeing more of your work.
lol, Almberg, it's Anubis
You obviously don't check my blog in TPD hehe
LOL, you just pop up everywhere I go. Nah, I'm not that active on TPD anymore. Don't know why. I like it here and on TO. Glad you started posting here now so I don't need to got to TPD to check your work there. :p I'm too lazy I know.
I like the people on TPD, but the server issues on the site just really annoy me. I've been joining a lot of sites now, before I was just a member of TO and TPD. We had a TO meetup last weekend which was a lot of fun, you should try come to the next one if you can find the cash Was muchos fun.
I will probably change my TO moniker back to Anubis so people don't get confused heh. At the moment I'm either Anubis, dontlookdown or The One You Know. I guess it depends on how I feel when I join a site lol
Yeah, the server glitch is bugging me aswell. Yeah, I've actually been thinking of going to the LO Meet Up but I need to find a job first. You should change your name to Anubis, it sounds better Haha!
Might I recommend investing in the loin cloth options...Particularly the one that came with the Space Marine Commander that had a ton of options for customizing him... Gotta get yer keelts 'efore ye be goin te war
Well... the chaplain looks great. You have some nice strong colours working with some good ability. The colour scheme for the rest of the army, as shown on the dread, is pretty nice. The red and cream work extremely well with one another. My only real comment is, that should you be theming this towards Scottish/Gaelic I would like to see more patterns/runes etc associated with them over the minis. The dread is great place to show off the freehand. Also, the dread would look good with a banner or loincloth draped from its hull.
Well, there are designs on them that would be more fitting of a true Scot... more like the picts rather than the celtic designs everyone associates with Scotland nowadays. Remember the Scots were only a small part of Scotland (from the south west highlands and across the islands to the tip of Ireland.
The "Y" chapter symbol is actually my clan symbol, it represents a pitchfork, even though it looks more like the letter.
Points are valid and noted though, but I'm not really going all out on the theme to be honest. It was more of a personal thing to my own heraldry, which I've done to my own satisfaction. The banner will have a unicorns head with a belt going round it, which is another official design for my clan and will bring it even more in line with what I want to do.
I haven't done any tartan on the marines because that is another misconception. Tartan was just a material until a French king decided he wanted more designs and to use them to distinguish between clans. I believe it goes back a LONG way before anything much happened in Europe. But, maybe I will put some of my clans modern tartan on my chapter master, as I like it

Very nice work! The Chaplain looks superb. The Dreadnought doesn't quite look as though it got the same amount of attention, but then again it has nowhere near the same about of detail. It's still a very solid paint-job, though.
I hope the sun comes out swiftly so we can see some more!
