I'm starting out painting a new guard army and i wanted to do an urban camo theme.
if anyone has any recommendations for stencils or methods for painting urban camo it would be much appreciated! also, if you have any suggestions on how to make good looking hazard striping, or other hard edged patterns I'd love to hear it!
Here are a couple links to possible ways i'd go with it:
The colors i'll be using are more grey-blue, to fit the look of my army.
P.S. if there is already a thread with relevant information please let me know!
Masking tape is your friend... More specifically, modelling masking tape. Tamiya's tape seems to be the overall favourite (and deservedly so, it works very nicely!), but there are other options out there. It's just a matter of figuring out your pattern and colours, cutting the tape to size and plenty of patience to get it right.
This month's FineScale Modeller shows you just what 40 hours, 2 rolls of tape and a lot of attention to detail can accomplish!
awesome! thanks a lot!
Unfortunately, you're going to have to have SOME infantry, and masking tape won't work so well for them!
GW has a couple of good schemes, though.

Takes practice, though.

The general rule of thumb with painting anything smaller than 54 mm... Don't do ACU digital pattern... The pixels are so small at that level, that they will either look blotted like the old BDU pattern, or they will end up looking too large and disproportinate.
By all means, paint the vehicles that way, but let your personelle have the same color scheme, but avoid the pattern.
If you're looking for advice on Hazard Stripes, send a PM to Danjones87 - he plays and paints Iron Warriors, and they do love their hazard stripes. To do this, look under the Community tab up at the top of your screen and then click on Member List. Then of course, find Danjones87, I'm sure he'll be glad to help - and you can tell him it's by referral if you like.

awesome, thanks guys! and yeah, for the troopers i wasnt really planning on the digital look, POSSIBLY for the vehicles but that's if my patience could actually hold out doing so, the troops will have a camo closer to the one Fenrix posted a link to, if any.
thanks again! i'll post some pictures once i get some stuff painted well!
