    A small challenge...

I have a concept that I suspect is point blank not possible to model, but I figured I'd ask...

I've been toying with putting a Carnosaur in my Lustria-themed Dark Elf army. Because I'm more than a little obsessive about fluff, I spent a while working out how to justify having a massive great dinosaur having flying rules and a breath weapon. I eventually came up with a charming mix of warpstone from enslaved Skaven and a bit of dark magic and alchemy to produce a creature which can spit warpstone fumes and do this. Behold, the Shadowflesh Carnosaur.

So, is there anything that you wiser folk can think of to convey that phasing effect? Even just on a small scale...

All I can think of is stuff coming off the back, retaining some of the detail. I geuss translucent stuff would be ideal, but not sure how you could get that. What ever you do I'd definately suggest trying it on a smaller model first though.
