    Wood Elf Forest

    So I've been making a forest for my wood elves. And here are some pics:

    With trees removed:

    The pond:

    Detial shot of the little creek:

    Details of the trees:

    And a shot of the not so standing stone and the poor sod underneath:

    I'm in a bit of a hurry to a friend's place to play a few games so I will post details of how I built it and answer any questions when I come back.

    See ya!

    Amazing detail! I love the leaves and the mushrooms and the stones, did you sculpt them?

    Keep up the good work. +rep

    Cheers guys!

    @Rahz:
    The mushrooms and the stones are indeed sculpted. The 'shrooms are green stuff around a piece of wire for support, with a small cap of green stuff. The big stones I made by allowing plaster to set in a small plastic box, then breaking it into suitable pieces and filing them into shape. I scored the runes with a small drill.

    @gedderz:
    The plog link is in the sig. Heh, Kuffy did make me promise to do a tutorial or wip on a different piece. We'll see when I get around to it.

    That's one sexy forest (if trees can be sexy that is... hello dendrophilia...). Are you planning to make more?

    Whoa, beware Rule 34!

    Nothing this big, though the next project will include a tree or two.

    Until then.

    @Byjugo:

    Indeed-ely! Thick binding wire (about 1,5 mm in diameter), one piece for every major branch, bound together and wrapped around with thin wire, then covered in plaster of paris. A quick basecoat, drybrush and some woodland scenics flock and, voila!, a perfectly serviceable tree. Embellish as you see fit.
