I am itching to play them, and since GW doesn't make models for them, I have tried to convert various models to TWC, but it just doesn't look quite right, any ideas?
I've been giving this quite a bit of thought lately. My advice would be, if you want something that looks like a wolf, go with the WHF dire wolves or chaos warhounds, and convert them. You'll need to use green stuff to make fur, and you might want to cut and reposition so that the bodies look a tad bigger. I'm gearing up for a purchase soon, and hope to document my efforts once the models arrive.
Anything else, I find, is either ridiculously overpriced, out of proportion, or not a wolf.
Yeah, that might work
There are also a number of Non-GW models out there on ebay and the 'net. I got some from Russia that are VERY cool, and if you search the Space Wolf blogs, you can find a few other suggestions.
One of the staff members of our store had a fun idea. Instead of actual wolves, using a biker squad ( appropriately 'wolved up' of course ) possibly with fur , no hands on the steers and flinging around like crazy with their weapons. "The thunderwolf" bikers. Space Wolves, who thunder down the battlefield.
Ow, I'll copyright it for him ^^

One of my oponents also has the TWC dilemma, I'm going to keep an eye on this, so good ideas might pop up. Currently he uses the dire wolves and greenstuffs the furr back on them.
I'm gonna take your suggestion FRG, i might find some ideas.

That's perfect!! Expensive, but exactly what I have been looking for!
