I am putting together a Vendetta and I'm trying to decide if I should just glue the doors and back ramp closed. I am not putting in the heavy bolter side sponsons, and I really don't see a reason to have access to the interior.
I was just curious how many people out there keep these type of hatches open, allowing access inside? Like for the vendettas, land raiders, ect.
The side doors in the vendetta stay open or closed very well, the back hatch is where I have had issues. I keep all mine functional, even on the chimeras where there is no interior just in case. Then again I always have plans to mod mine out more because I loves the models.
I bought a load of rare earth magnets off eBay - I'm sure you can probably get them from a good model shop, but I found the internet to be easiest. I used these to magnetise the weapons on my gunship, allowing it to be either a Valkyrie or a Vendetta.
And when the rear hatch kept falling open during games, I added a magnet to the hatch and the frame just above it to hold it closed. I can't for the life of me think why I'm ever going to want that hatch to be able to be opened, but it seems such a shame to prevent that opportunity.
