how do you paint eyes on a black tyranid??? goblin green? red gore? liche purple? midnight blue? bleached bone? WHAT??? help would be nice, as i know a lot of you 'nid players out there are also kick ass painters!!!
if you are reading this signature, then you are wasting you're time, and i am wasting my time by writing it, so run along now, jimmy, run along.
Black Nids? If I were you, I'd get ahold of some glow-in-the-dark paint and use that for the eyes. That would make for some pretty mean battlefield photography. Take the shots in low light, so all you can see is an army of eyes on the other side of the table.

-Arnoldunit Schwarzenecronegger; when questioned about the impending doom he would rain down upon the heads of his doomed enemies.
whatever you like!
Although a strong contrast is nice, if it's too light it might look strange, try a few colours on a test model, or download the DOW demo and use the army painter
yellow or green usually looks pretty good, stay away from dark colours.
The only difference between tattooed people and non-tattooed people is that tattooed people are awesome and can kick your ass.

Well, if you want a "natural" color, go with something like a bad moon yellow, or scorpion/snot/goblin green, or maybe even a mix. Maybe fiery orange too. Me personally, I gave my dark colored nids a personal touch. They are dark angel green with scorched brown carapaces, and then a black ink wash over the entire mini to give it a nice shiny look and shade it to a naturalistic color. Then, the eyes are done with mithril silver. Gives them that shiny eyed look. It came out pretty nice for a newbie painter, even if I say so myself
"Can you put that in a memo and title it '***** I already know!'"
Church: "Ok, so we're agreed? You first!"
Sarge: "Get on with it, Griff."
Griff: "I'd just like everyone to know: that I suck."
Griff: "And that I'm a girl..."
Church: "What else?"
Griff: "And I like ribbons in my hair, and I want to kiss all the boys."
Sarge: "This has to be the best surrender of all time."
Dawn of War, you are able to 'paint' the armies in your own scheme for the game. I didn't think that nids were in it though...Originally posted by TopHatCat@Sep 17 2004, 08:20

Glow in the dark eyes would be sweet. Otherwise maybe blood red, or try without painting the eyes and see how it looks.
By that I mean leave the eyes black of course, not the unpainted grey.
i say paint them with scorpion/billious green, yellow colour is hard to use (poor coating).
aka the little flamethrower girl, aka jachu_ka
yeah, definately bright green for the eyes (and other things, like bits on bio-weapons maybe) It will give a really alien-esque look
