I'm aware that I've been banging on about my Raven Guard and Imperial Guard for a while, but I've finally got round to throwing some pictures up of how it's going. Both armies are completely assembled at 1500pts now, but not completely painted. Progress is, as you may have noticed, quite slow in my life. I'm also contemplating starting a White Scars army, so I painted one Marine up to guage how well I'd be able to pull it off. Please tell me what you think! Sorry if some of the pictures are a bit dodgy, I'm borrowing a digital camera I haven't used before.
Anyway, here are some pics of my IG Vets. One painted, and two not. I've used SM Scout legs, Cadian torsos and arms, FW Cadian shotguns, FW Elysian lasguns and a variety of heads from various sources. These are the FW Cadian heads. Extra accessories are from various IG sprues.
'Arbites' Veteran with Shock Maul and Suppression Shield
I have a few of these scattered around squads for some variety. Shield is made from a Land Speeder visor with plasticard bottom. Maul built from various bits and pieces. Eagle is from the IG tank sprue.
Raven Guard Tactical Sergeant
Obviously, this guy is still WIP. I was basically waiting until the FW RG stuff was released - which it now is, but I still haven't gotten around to finishing him off. First practice at doing white power armour.
Raven Guard Scout Sergeant
I'm trying for a very muted look, which I think suit the Raven Guard perfectly.
White Scars Marine
I'm very pleased with how this guy turned out. The image compression is a bit rubbish here, though. I did the white on top of a brown (not grey) basecoat to link the model with the base. The 'dirty look' is, IMO, much nicer than bright and clean when fighting on muddy battlefields.
Let me know what you think. Cheers.
The guardsmen and raven guard look great, the white ont the raven guard and the white scar looks very smooth, well done for that.
Tho I do loath the white scars your mini looks good, my beef with all white marines is how clean they look. Sure marines clean their army but all the time?
But good work all round.
I AM BOOMER!
hehe, so true. Scars always look like they've never been in battle.
Great job on those mini's Raven. I really like the arbite, i hope you do a whole army of em! Arbite rule btw....I think for the Raver Guard sarg you may want to highligh the black a bit. It may be the photo, but it just just, well, black. Do an extreme highlight with like Codex Grey(for GW paint). Also...hes missing a shoulder pad, but i'm sure your aware of that =)

Great stuff dude! I really like the White Scars marine, that moustache really works for the whole Mongolian look they have.
