This theme is, "Stealthy" as chosen by the winner of the previous contest, Jaffar-Hassad.Since nobody else made their conversion visible, I think next one should be based off of just that. Convert your entry being as stealthy as can be. From sneaky gits hiding behind bushes to stealth field infiltrators. Use of terrain in basing is highly advised. Make if funny, make it functional, or make it both. The choice is yours.
People entering have one month in which to design and convert a single based model to the theme set. Members will be expected to post their pictures which will then be placed into a thread for voting. It is done so that people can improve their skills, and try out things. And purely for fun, The winner will get a banner for their sig if they want it
1.) Models from any manufacturer are allowed.
2.) There is one month to each project.
3.) One base (any size) per entry... Multiple models permanently fixed to the single base are allowed. No armies on display boards though.
4.) Models converted within the time frame are looked upon favourably. (It is of course impossible for us to check). Please use this competition to come up with a new idea.
5.) Pictures can be no wider than 700 pixels (as per the normal LO rules).
6.) Maximum of two pictures can be posted. Single pictures of multiple views (montages) are allowed.
7.) The organisers of the competition have the right to refuse entry to any applicant if they feel it doesn't meet the criteria
8.) Voting. It is considered un-sportsmanlike to vote for yourself. You are voting on what you think is the most original, unique, clever conversion.
9.) There should be little paint on the model. It must be possible to clearly see any modelling putty, or cuts made.
The closing date is the 18th July at 23:59 GMT
So just post your completed entries here before the deadline.
It is possible to earn extra votes. If you include a tutorial then I will add 1 vote onto you total, and if it's unpainted, another vote will be added.
1. Is it too late to enter? No it isn’t until the deadline above is reached.
2. How do I enter? Just post a link to a photo of your mini in this thread, preferably it should follow the LO rules for such things, as it is a bit of a hassle for me to resize stuff and re-host it, but I can if you don’t know how.
3. The Prize?! Get to choose the next theme! You will also get a lovely shiny medal from Kuffy. For all the other participants, your prize is experience and fun.
Heres a comp i found out about on the first day, and i already have an idea for it ! hooray ! I'll have a bash.

I AM BOOMER!
Hey all, I've just discovered the modelling sub-section of the forum and in particular these contests have drawn my attention. I love the idea and have reviewed all the previous contests.
Planning on entering this one with a comical ork conversion.
IG camo cloak conversion - check

Okay, this didn't turn out quite as funny as I'd hoped, but it was fun. It's pretty clear I still need to perfect my green-stuffing skills. So after reading the contest description, I was thinking "hmmm... stealthy... spy..." and my mind flipped to that amazing cat picture "I think there's a spy among us." So loosely inspired by that, here is my entry:
Please note the black eyebrows of the Ork; I painted them black because when they were just plain green stuff, they didn't stand out at all, and you could barely tell.
I wish I could have pulled off making the IG uniform look like they were really tight and didn't quite fit right, but again, I'll blame the poor sculpting skills.
And for an extra point, here's a short, simple How-to:
-Used cheap Snap-fit Cadian models; Assembled 1 as normal
-Assembled 2nd in less battle-ready pose (wanted them to look like they were just standing around talking, patrolling)
-Green stuffed small gaps from reposing crappy model
-Gave him left hand from an Eldar model
-Used AoBR Ork bits
-Cut off extra big shoota and replaced with lasgun (had to cut/file off both Cadian hands from gun)
-Legs were left the same
-Torso: sculpted coat layer, then belt layer, then the armor layer; added some pouches and canteen on back
-Arms: both arms got a sleeve layer, and then a shoulder pad layer
-Head: sculpted on a new mouth (look less angry); sculpted on helmet (2 layers w/ very crappy skull/wings emblem); sculpted on eyebrows to make him look more scared/sad than angry
Ah, damn it! I would've joined if I didn't find this today... Tyranids arn't very stealthy, the only way to do it would be camo-paint, but thats not a conversion...
I better keep my eye out in the future
