im just wondering what wash to use to go over a whole model, that will work for yellow and red? i have baal red and gryphonne sepia, and am planning to go over mechrite red and iyanden darksun. obviously building up colour from that.
i know gryphonne sepia isn't bad for iyanden darksun and baal red for mechrite, but im a bit reluctant to mix the inks as im not sure how it'll come out.
thanks for any help. if you dont understand what i mean just ask and i'll try explain it a bit more
Thraka Green shades red very nicely, although Mechrite on it's own, even with a wash, looks a bit meh. I'd advise Mechrite, Blood Red then Thraka Green. Alternatively, Badab Black.
Gryphonne Sepia looks alright with yellow, but again I'd advise not doing it straight over Iyanden Darksun as, like Mechrite, it isn't very bright. Ogryn Flesh or Devlan Mud will probably work better as you want the wash to darken the recesses and Gryphonne Sepia is quite light.
(also, what are you painting?)
the plan is to paint these, as i havent seen them done by anyone else yet;
Minotaurs - Lexicanum
yep, they are garish. putrid. and retro, but i like all of that lol
EDIT: thanks for replying to an awkward question!
Haha, fantastic! Well in that case I would probably advise Devlan Mud or Badab Black, as the red and yellow are patterned. I would advise using the Badab Black more tactically, i.e straight into the recesses and not over the actual pattern, as yellow is an arse to paint as it is without having to paint over it again!
Devlan Mud is brown whereas Gryphonne Sepia is a very yellow wash. It'll wash the yellow but the Devlan will be darker.
