Fantastic paintjob. I'd like to see it under a different light source though, the one used here looks quite yellow.
@ qajorgenson: yeah your right about the light source, maybe on my projects forum I'll put up so better pics
I see that you have the right techniques down. However I feel that it is somewhat monochromatic (1 color). Perhaps you can introduce a contrasting color to pop it out. If this was my model I would perhaps add some contrasting markings to the carapace such as blue/purple or green. good job nevertheless.
Although I agree with amongor that some other colors may look a bit better, the one color feel does allow it to be more realistic. You don't see too many predators stalking in the shadows with mostly black fur and then a big bright patch of yellow right on their back! I think you've done a great job here. What really gets me is the teeth. The mouth stands out a bit and the faded white on the teeth looks fantastic.
Keep up the good work!
@amongor: blue/green markings? Sorry friend but there's no way I'm going to let any one of those colours touch my trygon. The way I painted this model was that I used some sort of red in every aspect of the paint job to tie all the aspects of the trygon together
@sadsensei: Thanks man, I find it funny that you like the teeth the best as they were the simplest to paint. All you do is layer on Graveyard Earth, Bleached Bone and Skull White making sure a little bit of the previous layer is still showing at the root of the teeth.
