So painting my stormraven (see WIP.) but I have become stuck on painting the cockpit. I was thinking initially of painting it a blue reflection of the sky, blending it with white and giving it highlights etc. but now that I've painted the first coat of blue I'm wondering if its too much.
So two questions...
1. Do you know of any good tutorials for glass cockpit reflections (i know alot of eldar players do this.) or if you have any advise or pictures that will help.
2. IF not the blue reflections then what else would you advise instead for the glass.
Thanks for the help, i appreciate any and all help/direction.
First of all: What is that?! And can we get more pictures of it?
Back on topic: I would have taken the easy way out and painted the glass black or dark blue and give it a coat of gloss varnish. Maybe with some kind of highlights in form of thin white/grey lines near some of the edges/corners.
Currently painting the Waaagh! of Warboss Borboss - Goff and Evil Sunz warband
Don't think I haven't thought of taking the easy way out and doing that... its still an option but since I went to all that effort to make the damn thing, I thought it only right to paint it properly. One big issue is the fact that their is alot of "glass".
Not sure what to suggest.
I'd consider starting with a very dark grey/black base and wet blending lighter greys from the bottom of each section. This would result in each pane being very light at the bottom getting darker to the top. But I'm not too sure really.
I think the best thing to do is get some research of flat glass with various tints and see what they look like.
