I was made aware of this website: Shapeways from a friend that had some items made there. How it works is you create a CAD model and upload it to their servers. You select the material you want it made out of and their machines carve it for you. They then send you the finish piece in the mail.
This opens a world of possibilities for the modeling guys. All you need is CAD and you can practically make anything! I don't know what the pricing would be, but our models are small enough to be perfect for this type of thing. If someone had CAD models of the Titans then we could really have some fun. Get them to make the arms, torso, legs, etc separate and then affix them when they come in the mail.
Has anyone tried this yet? What do you think? I may get CAD and start learning. This could be a lot of fun and a totally new way to model.
Wow !! Looks wicked. Now I can make all those WoC models that are in the book but aren't available
5000 pts of WoC, 5000 pts of Orcs and now 3000 pts of Ogres...What was I thinking ????
