Not bad dude. However, a few things bug me. The skin is quite orangey when compared to most other flesh tones, I would have gone for a more pinky tone myself. Also the grey top doesn't stand out much, there is a lack of obvious highlights where you'd expect them to be, on prominent parts of the mini; ie the chest, the creases in the arm. Same sort of applies to the boots. I think she could do with a few more highlights myself, to bring out the parts a bit better.
Cheers dude. I took your advice and re-did some of the highlighting. Added some more harsh highlights to the hair, leather and grey.
The skin isn't that orangy, it's my lighting. It's mixed up with Bronzed & Elf Flesh up to almost white.
Got some better pics today.
The Hair isn't highlighted in this pic btw!
Close up. Think it's alright. Eyes could do with touching up....
She looks much better now. The highlights help the grey areas stand out a little bit better and more. Even though, the skin does still look rather orangey pink, it's why I don't really use bronzed flesh; I prefer other pink tones for the skin.
Also, good work. The skin improved quite a bit with the second go at highlighting.
Meph: Cheers dude. Glad you like her.
Kuffy: Trust you to take it that way you deprived hairy individual It was actually a close up of the corset so you could see the highlights i'd done to the leather.
Odin: Cheers dude. Beleive it or not The skin is the one thing I didn;t do extra highlighting on. Those First pics really were bum. Teaches me to take photo's late into the evening!
Ok, I'm not sold on the Black string and edging on the corset. Anyone got any ideas as to colours that would work? Or shall I just leave well alone.
I would say go with a lighter tan shade that would appear to be a worn leather. It would contrast nicely with the darker tones around it, but might get lost against her skin if you use it on the straps running up her legs.
5000 pts of WoC, 5000 pts of Orcs and now 3000 pts of Ogres...What was I thinking ????
Taking photos during the day gives you all kinds of "light pollution" on your minis, you end up with several different colors of light bouncing off of them. This makes it difficult to distinguish what you've highlighted up and what is just being hit by the light in an odd way.
Check out this how to from Cypher. This is pretty much the same method that I use, except that I use "Bright White" bulbs rather than the true spectrum ones.
