Hi guys. I've been reading Librarium for three years now. Joined up in 07 but have only just plucked up the courage to start posted and getting actively involved...What can I say, I am a born wimp!
I thought that while my brave streak seemed to have carried over from last night, I would post a few photosgraphs of my current painting projects. I apologise for mixing my mediums, posting image URL's and Thumbs isnt ideal I know...
I would greatly apprecaite any feedback the community would be happy to offer. I will happily take it on the chin I promise! I've also kept a note on how I have achived most effects, and as such will be more than happy to share with anyone else who wishes to paint mini's as sub-standard as mine! haha.
Robed Dark Angels:
Still a W.I.P. I have around 25 on the go at the moment and am working through them in blocks of 5, these are the guys I have on the assembly line right now!
Again, still a W.I.P. My first attempt at a centrepiece type model, not that I game much anymore so the poor mite ends up sat in my case for months on end until I pluck up the courage to start adding to him. Force weapon was my first attempt at that kind of lightning effect.
I love Battle Damage! my problem with these guys is, no matter how much I add, they still look kinda clean to me. I'm thinking of maybe putting some mud spatters up their legs or something like that.
Please disregard the black soot marks at the top of the exhausts. The exhaust plates were previously painted green but I felt like I wanted to add a little more colour to them so did them in a bone colour instead which made the soot marks redundant. I do intend to go over them at some point.... honest!
Thanks for taking the time to have a look guys.
A feast to my eyes
I personally think the battle damage is fine actually, but maybe you could carefully chip some of leg armour etc away with a hobby knife and then paint it battle damaged. Maybe thats more your thing?
looking forward to see more
Thanks man! I'm still working out the whole rep system. So far I have learned that Rep = a good thing. So Thank you very much mate
Night gathers, and now my watch begins.
Those are looking great Kev! The scratches in the armour look awesome, I especially like the rhino for some reason, just screams battle damage. If you are looking to add more to the termis I suggest adding bullet holes/chips, I always imagined them just walking through enemy fire like it was nothing so I think it would work well.
Keep up the good work and I'll keep watching.
Edit: Rep for having the 1st Legion.
