I recently bought some models on ebay and when they arrived I found that flock had been put on the bases with glue gun glue, making them rather unnatractive. Also, the monolith (necron, warhammer 40k) was put together sloppily. Does anybody know how I can remove either glue gun glue or super glue so I may re-assemble these models myself?

im not shure how to get rid of it chemicaly , but if you can break the glue bond so that you dont break the model you can file away the excess glue and start again .

Dammit, I wish I hadn't lost my dremel now. That would have made taking off the bases a whole lot easier! Oh well, I needed to stop by a store to pick up some aircraft bases so I might as well get some soldier bases while I'm there. And ask the clerk if he knows. I'll let you know if I find anything else!

Micromark sells superglue debonder that won't harm plastic. Hot glue gun stuff must be carved away with a knife. Soaking in brake fluid may loosen either of those glues, but it will also strip all the paint off. It will not harm plastic. Sometimes freezing the model will make the joint brittle enought to crack apart.
