Hi and Merry Christmas. I have finished my lastest figure, I painted this for my father for Christmas. A way to get a cheap christmas present, ha. I assembled and painting this in around 7 hours just meant to be a quick gaming standard figure. I still can't take decent photos and i don't know how to make them smaller , so sorry. would appreicate consturctive critism. Cheers!
Very impressive! The blue color is great, and if you don't mind, could you post your recipe for it? The bronze/gold looks a tad bit dull but that just might be the photo, because for some reason metallics don't really photograph well. One thing to do though is maybe paint the ribbing black and highlight it with codex gray. Also great job on the base, the static grass looks great in just small clumps.
Hi, thanks for your comments. The blue is done starting with a chaos black primer, then lightly airbrushed with mordian blue leaving some of the black as shading then highlighting the lightest points with mordian blue+ space wolves grey then pure space wolves grey. Hope this helps. Cheers!
I'm loving it, nice shade of blue and the copper suits it quite nicely, a softer contrast than just gold or yellow. Overall a very crisp miniature. My only criticism would be that his right foot seems to be floating a bit over the mud. I would have pushed him deeper in to convey his weight and perhaps dirty-up his leg guards with just a little bit of mud to tie the mini together with the base more.
Now that's a great mini! Grimmer that ordinary Marines you see around, I like it. Some chapter/tactical insigna and you're good to go and bring death in the name of the Emperor
My project log: High Elves (and other stuff actually, but mainly High Elves).

Excellent - that's one of the best "ordinary" plastic marines I've ever seen painted. Nice and simple, but still dark and more gothic. I like the "dull" gold - but maybe would have done an extreme edge highlight of mithril/shining gold mix.
the blue and darkened gold is great, super shiny gold dosnt suit mairnes in my opinion,

First off, welcome to LO, and what a debut! Great job there. I like the blue as well. Personally, I OD'd on Ultramarines a long time ago, but I'm still impressed with the clean paint job. Very, very well done. Is that a biker boltgun he's carrying? I take it this was a bits box scratchbuild? I too like the base, though it's a bit large for a "standard" marine. I like the treatment, though. I too like the static grass. The skull is a nice touch, too. Thanks for posting!
