Welcome to Librarium Online!
Hey everyone ive recently got back into 40k. I used to watch by brother play it when i was younger and now hes startin it all again so i will too . Ive got a few chaos marines and i need some advice on how to paint them. If anyone could help me out that would be great. Also who do you think that i should go? Khorne,Slaanesh,Tzeentch,Nurgle or just be chaos undivided?
I go for the undivided scheme.. Why? Because you can make mistakes and just say "they are chaos.. so?" lol.. and because i like the colours. Nice thick undercoat of chaos black. then very thin layer of Boltgun Metal.. gives a nice shine... Then drybrush on some boltgun to the spikes and maybe some plates and other detail you deem suitable (yes, drybrush, only a small bit of paint it give a thin layer but in my experiance if you just paint it the BG looks blobby, thick and just bad) then some Burnished Gold for trim. Then highlights in some more Boltgun.
This makes them look really shiny and well, evil. Interesting enough, Burnished Gold is shinier than Shining Gold.
Thats only Chaos Undivided though, look around this section for Tzeench ideas (i know there was a thread here somewhere) and possibly some others.
In the Future... There is only Pie!
thanks, thats kinda what i was thinking. That looks pretty good so far, ill try and get some pics up.
get a chaos black pot and pour some boltgun into it. mix it up good and you have a metalic black colour, it looks awsome and you dont need to mix paints all the time for ur armour.
CHOSE NIGHTLORDS!! They're the best! They're the coolest! Go go go Nightlords!
nah.. just kidding.
It's simple, chose the legion you like the best! Don't think about who's the best, consider if you like the legion's background, paint scheme and general image. Also see if that legion lets you field the units you want. You've got the codex right??
When you've selected a legion check out how to play it on one of these links:

Ave Dominus Nox!
thanks guys, im thinking about choosing the thousand sons. But we'll see, im not sure yet.
Thats terrible advice.get a chaos black pot and pour some boltgun into it. mix it up good and you have a metalic black colour, it looks awsome and you dont need to mix paints all the time for ur armour.
Firstly it would mean you'd have no pure black unless you went out and bought a second, costing more money.
Secondly the pot wouldn't fit both in.
It would be easier to buy an empty pot, fill both paints in and mix it.
