This was my first GW scenery kit ever in life.
One evening to cut, one to assemble. I imagine it will take one to base and several to paint... I made it a full 3 stories, plus the roof piece (4 stories!) and still had a couple left over to put up a small corner for back side cover.
I kept the debris piles small... will fill in with some small crushed ferrocrete (busted plaster) and sand before painting. I will probably make small debris piles along the walls as I go too.
Awesome job!! To my wife's dismay I have been collecting bits of junk (styrofoam, card-board packing, broken toys, etc) with the intention to build some 40K scenery.
How did you build this building? Did you have a template to work from? What did you use for materials?
I do the same thing! My garage is stock piled with styrofoam chunks, fiber board, plastic board, empty bottles... you name it. The wife thinks I'm insane... but as long as it stays hidden in the dungeon... er, garage... she's okay with it.
My other pieces are plaster walls that I made and then demolished... have yet to paint them but they work on the table. I started one, it's the funky looking blue on in one pic above. Still needs a few layers of color and basing. I also have four of the paper-cut-out buildings from the old Warhammer box set from the 1990's. I glued them together and glued them onto some tile backing board. The pattern on it makes for decent floor tiles under the buildings.
That new building is from the Basilica Administratum kit from GW. It is pretty much a collection of individual wall tiles, floor tiles and some decorative bits. The rubble piles are just cut up pieces of sprue with a few of the extra decorative bits added. All of it is from the one box, not combining or kit-bashing added to this one... just a single, raw kit.
I need to go pick up some more sand for the bases... I ran short and need to get some to finish this up.
Based and primed...
Very nice I'm becoming a fan at this rate lol. Can't wait to see it finished!
