Ok so I was making me first bit of terrain today I made a cardboard hill out of corrugated cardboard then I covered it in one layer of paper Mache then I put a layer of pva down and covered It with sand then I waited 24 hours well in fact I did all this over 2 weeks anyway then I spray painted it black looks really good and is ready to take the next few coats of paint then some static grass but the paint chips off very easy leaving exposed sand underneath how do I stop this from happing ?
Is the under coat coming off? Or the top layers.
Apter applying sand on top of PVA glue leave it to dry then reapply watered down PVA glue to seal the sand in. It dries rock hard then you can paint it normally. Matt varnish will stop paint coming off but the PVA sealant will stop the sand coming away taking the paint with it.
