Hey guys. I've just about finished painting my necron monolith, and I'd like to make a base for it. Something like a necorn destroyer base for example, just bigger! Do you guys have any suggestions or links that you could send me of previous attempts would be well appreciated.
I haven't actually made a base for a Monolith because I don't have one. However I've found that a few (three is best) cheap, blank CD's work well when glued together as a base for a big model. I used one on a Carnifex I converted with six big long legs. All you need to do is just seal up the hole in the middle of the CD's. Use a piece of thin plastic from a spare base to do that. With a little work it should take a flying stand. The only thing is that it isn't transparent so you'll have to do it up with sand etc.
Thanks for the response. I think I'll try that. All of my other bases have been done up with sand anyways, so I'll be able to keep the theme consistent.
