Well, I've had this set of Space Hulk minis for over a year now, and I've just had so many projects to paint that they've been on my back list for a while. Ironically, in that time I've painted quite a few Space Hulk sets for other people.
As the first of the Genestealers, I did the Broodlord. He's meant to set the pace for the rest of them, with a color scheme that isn't too close to the official one, but not too far from it either. Anyway, here he is:
Looks really nice, I especially like the 'skin' tone, good choice of colours, what did you use if you don't mind me asking?
The skin started out with P3 frostbite (a very light blue, a little lighter than Space Wolves Grey). I then shaded it with a watered down red and a watered down brown (and the two mixed together). I put a bit of emphasis on the red so that the finished look became a little more pink.
After that, I highlighted back up to frostbite, then added some extra highlighting in white.
Consider that method stolen! Ha ha!Originally Posted by odinsgrandson
Thanks for sharing that, it does look really nice, just hope I can do it justice when I have a go!
